Cinnamon Brioche French Toast with Homemade Orange Syrup, Vanilla Ice Cream and Mandarin Supremes

What brunch dreams are made of! The classic french toast Start your Sunday right with my french toast recipe.



Ingredients


Serves 4 slices of french toast


French Toast

- 2 Eggs

- 100ml of Milk

- 2 tbsp of Icing Sugar

- 1tbsp of Cinnamon

- 4 Slices of Brioche Bread

- Vanilla Ice Cream

- Mandarin Supremes


Orange Syrup

- 50g of Butter

- 100g of Caster Sugar

- 1 Orange


Method


- Mix the eggs, milk, icing sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and dip each slice of brioche into it until covered

- Fry the french toast for a couple of minutes each side until brown. I used my Le Creuset Cast Iron grill for this.

- To make the orange syrup melt the caster sugar on a low heat until liquid

- Once the sugar has melted add the butter and mix

- Squeeze the juice of one orange into the syrup and stir on a low heat

- Finally finish the french toast off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the homemade orange syrup, mandarin supremes and a dusting of cinnamon
