Crusty Bread with Hot Honey Halloumi, Whipped Garlic Mascarpone & Fresh Thyme

The perfect brunch. Hot honey halloumi, whipped garlic mascarpone on crusty bread with fresh thyme and red pepper flakes.

Ingredients


Halloumi

3 tbsp honey

1 tsp chilli flakes

1 tsp olive oil

1 minced garlic clove

Cracked black pepper

3 tsp mascarpone

Crusty loaf


Method


- Place a skillet onto a medium heat and a add knob of butter

- Once melted, fry a slice of the crusty bread both sides until crispy and golden brown

- Remove the bread from the skillet and add garlic in the halloumi and cook both sides until crispy

- Combine the honey, chilli flakes and olive oil into a bowl and pour over halloumi

- Reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes

- For the whipped garlic mascarpone, add the garlic, mascarpone and black pepper into a bowl and whisk until whipped

- Spread the whipped garlic mascarpone over a slice of the crusty bread and top with the hot honey halloumi

- Finish with black pepper, red pepper flakes and fresh thyme
